Second Session of the Intergovernmental Joint Committee for the Implementation of the Agreement between the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro on the Protection of the Rights of the Croatian Minority in Montenegro and the Montenegrin Minority in the Republ On May 24, 2017, the Second Session of the Intergovernmental Joint Committee for the Implementation of the Agreement between the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro on the Protection of Minorities Rights was held in Zagreb on May 24, 2017. Board members were appointed by the Government of the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro. They are representatives of national minorities and representatives of relevant Ministries and offices (culture, external affairs, education, internal affairs, etc.).

Today, during an official ceremony, the European Commission announced the winners of the Second EU Roma Integration Award for the Western Balkans and Turkey. The aim of this award, launched in 2014, is to shed a spotlight on the political importance of Roma integration in the EU enlargement process, to enhance the role of the civil society and to show the EU's determination and commitment to enhance social inclusion of Roma people.

During the conversation Minister praised Montenegro's national policy in the area of full inclusion of minority people in all areas of public and social life. It is a great acknowledgment to have a clear understanding and support, Zenka said, pointing to the number of Ministers in the new Cabinet of the Montenegrin Government, whose responsibilities are very important. The role is important, but also responsibility, Minister stressed. It is up to us to justify participation in the Government with its effect on overall politics, Zenka added, recognizing members of minority people in Montenegro as their country and contributing in the best possible way to its progress.

Podgorica – The 2016 cycle of the Public Dialogue Forums on implementation and priority measures on Roma issues, that took place throughout the region in the past few months, concluded with the Forum in Podgorica today.
