The Government of Montenegro adopted earlier today the Analyses of compatibility of regulations in Montenegro with the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination of persons with Disabilities and the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities, together with recommendations for harmonization.

First master among Roma population in Montenegro presented his scientific paper

Beganaj is the first member of the Roma population in Montenegro who recently reached his master's degree.Scientific paper "The anti-discrimination approaches in the preschool system in Montenegro" refers to all Roma and Egyptian children in pre-school system in Montenegro. In his work, Beganaj defines preschool education system as primary education designed to develop children’s intercultural spirituality.

The third seminar on Roma issues was held earlier today in Podgorica. It was organised by Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro in cooperation with General Directorate for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.The topic of this year seminar is "From words to deeds - towards the integration of Roma", and it was opened by Ms Marta Garcia-Fidalgo, coordinator for Roma integration policy in the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations, and Mr Suad Numanovic Minister for Human and Minority Rights in the Government of Montenegro.

Montenegrin delegation composed of the vice president Azra Jasavić and Minister for Human and Minority Rights Suad Numanović, earlier today paid their homage at the Memorial built to the civil victims of the wars led in the former Yugoslavia during the period 1991 - 2001.

Montenegro has become the 29th member of the Initiative "The equal futures partnership", which is dedicated to economic and political empowerment of women on national and global level. The above mentioned Initiative offers an opportunity to present national projects and policies as a way of promoting gender equality policy, and therefore fosters further improvement of the current situation.

Solemn Academy on 70th Anniversary since women gained voting rights in Montenegro

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary since women in Montenegro gained the right to vote, the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and UNDP, in cooperation with the Montenegrin National Theatre, organised a solemn academy. Through a multimedia programme, designed as a reflection on key moments in the history of women's political activism in Montenegro, the audience in the national theatre was able to see how women in Montenegro invested efforts in the past several decades to equally share the political space with men.

On the occasion of the situation which arose in connection with the dictionary of Montenegrin national and literary language (I) and critics of many organizations and individuals regarding the meanings of certain words in the dictionary, the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights urges Montenegrin academy of sciences and arts to examine controversial meanings, as soon as possible.
